Experts predict that in the next two years, the annual growth rate of unsaturated polyester resin in China is expected to be 10% to 15%, and then may drop to about 10%. Although decorative casting is currently a major use of unsaturated polyester resins, there will be a greater increase in the application of FRP composites, especially in the fields of construction and infrastructure applications.

According to report, at present, there are more than 21 domestic production enterprises with production capacities of over 30,000 tons, of which Jiangsu Changzhou Yabang Chemical Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Panyu Huaxun Industrial Co., Ltd. have a capacity of more than 200,000 tons. The number of companies with production capacities exceeding 100,000 tons has reached five, and there are more than 160 manufacturers, large and small. In recent years, affected by the buoyant domestic and foreign markets of downstream products, the output of unsaturated polyester resin in China has grown rapidly. In 2009, the domestic unsaturated resin production capacity has reached 2.6 million tons, and the actual output is 1.53 million tons. In recent years, large-scale ethylene engineering and chemical industrial bases have been built in northwest and northeast China.
