Instrument giant Tektronix acquires Veridae Systems

Tektronix, the world's leading provider of test, measurement and monitoring instruments, announced the acquisition of Veridae Systems. This transaction did not disclose specific details.

Founded in 2009, Veridae aims to commercialize the research results of the University of British Columbia, Canada, and provides advanced semiconductor and system products manufacturers with three advanced products for ASIC/FPGA prototype design debugging and ASIC post-silicon Verification and FPGA System Product Verification. For the first time in the market, these products implement systematic “design verification” and important functions such as on-chip and off-chip multi-device systems, devices, and time domain synchronization. By enhancing deeper insights, customer verification time is significantly reduced, and important debugging problems that previously required several weeks or months can be completed within hours.

Amir Aghdaei, President of Tektronix, said: "Veridae solves the increasingly serious challenges that our customers face in debugging and verifying complex systems. The combination of Veridae and Tektronix solutions helps to significantly reduce customers' costs while accelerating time-to-market."

Tektronix will long-term efforts to promote the development of embedded capture in Vancouver, Canada. Jim Derbyshire, CEO of Veridae and a supervisor at Simon Fraser University, said: “We are very pleased to join the Tektronix team and establish the company’s business unit in Vancouver. This will help us to maintain close contact with local research institutions that have grown up in Veridae. The process has played an important role."
