Hunan Hengyang promotes the development of salt-halogen chemical industry

At the 2010 Hunan Hengyang Production, Teaching and Research Information Publication Fair, 4 universities, 1 research institute and 8 companies including the Hunan Jiaogong Institute signed the strategic alliance agreement for Hengyang City Salt and Halogen Chemical Production and Research, which marks Hengyang. The salt-halogen chemical industry has entered the “one-stop” clustered development of production, education and research. This strategic alliance is the first strategic alliance jointly initiated by Hengyang City universities, backbone chemical companies, and research institutes. Hengyang Science and Technology Department will focus on supporting its development and give priority to projects.
The reserves of rock salt resources in Hengyang City are 14 billion tons, which is the highest in South China. Salt-halogen chemical industry is one of the five pillar industries in Hengyang City. In order to realize the sustainable development of the salt and brine chemical industry in Hengyang City and improve the application efficiency of the salt and brine chemical resources, the salt and brine chemical companies operate on a high-level, energy-saving, and high-efficiency platform. The Hengyang Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government take advantage of the situation to develop salt and brine chemicals and Silicon Chemicals, Fluorine Chemicals, New Energy and New Building Materials are the leading industries and strive to build the largest salt-halogen chemical and fine chemical industrial base in South China. Hengyang Science and Technology Bureau meticulously organizes Hunan Transportation Industry and Commerce Institute as the chairman unit, specifically taking the lead in four universities: Nanhua University, Hengyang Normal University, Hunan Institute of Technology, Hengyang Chemical Research Institute and Hunan Xiangheng Salt Mine, Hailian Chemical, etc. The strategic alliance of production, research and development of Hengyang Salt and Halide Chemical Industry, which is closely integrated with production, education and research, was established.
