In recent years, mainstream suppliers at all levels of the tire industry have increased investment in green tire technology research and development. The freight industry has become the largest energy consumer in the entire transportation industry. Tire use costs account for approximately 6% of the freight cost of the entire truck. Where is the root of "promotion difficult"

The promotion of green tires is generally difficult in many ways. A number of tire industry experts have defined "understanding of concepts" as the primary factor in the difficulty of green tires. However, from the perspective of the entire freight industry, green tires are still in the stage of product introduction. In fact, green tires have been used in a large number of applications in the new energy vehicle market that embodies energy conservation and emission reduction performance. In contrast, there are currently few green tire products for the domestic freight industry, and the related product certification system is not perfect, and the auto companies' autonomy in selecting green tires is not strong. In general, the unit price of green tires is 10%~30% higher than that of traditional tires. The increase in the cost of four-wheeled passenger vehicles with green tires is still within an acceptable range, and the focus is on economic benefits. Commercial vehicles can hardly accept this increase in cost. In addition, due to different vehicle performance and usage status, the fuel savings brought by green tires are also different, generally only 1% to 5%. Therefore, many companies have different effects on the practical application of green tires.

Qian Ruiqi, chief engineer of Shuangqin Group Co., Ltd., believes that the important reason for the difficulty in promoting green tires is that China's tire industry has relatively weak supporting capabilities and the overall service level is also low. Foreign excellent tire companies can not only produce high-performance products, but also can provide overall vehicle solutions for tire applications and testing. This is also a huge challenge faced by the tire industry manufacturers and testing companies in China.

"Green" Developing Smart Tires

Smart tires are another focus of this forum. Etienne Besnoin said that smart and green environmental protection are the two major trends in the development of the global tire industry. Yang Xiaoguang, a researcher at the Academia Sinica of Baosteel Group, introduced that smart tires generally refer to tire systems that have sensors installed to monitor tire stress conditions and road conditions, and in turn help improve vehicle performance. Tires with tire pressure and tire temperature monitoring are now commonly used as primary smart tires, tires that can monitor tire forces and road conditions are mid-level smart tires, and future smart smart tires can realize tires that are subject to environmental adjustments. performance. The intelligent tire system is integrated with the vehicle's CAN bus and based on surface acoustic wave sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and optical sensors, seven types of sensors accurately measure the degree of deformation of the rolling tire in real time and perform a large number of data operations and analysis. At present, middle-to-advanced smart tires are still in a large number of experimental analysis stages, and the real application of tires depends on the appearance of tire materials and new design structures.
