Research Progress of Graphene Black Phosphorus Planar Supercapacitors in Chinese Academy of Sciences

China Instrument Network Instrument R&D Recently, the team of Wu Zhongshuai, a two-dimensional material and energy device of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, teamed up with the research team of Ren Wencai of the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences to help prepare a one-step filtration method with a laminated structure. This electrode is directly transferred to a flexible substrate as a planar supercapacitor, exhibiting excellent energy density and good mechanical flexibility in ionic liquids. The relevant research results were published in the Nano Chemical Journal of the American Chemical Society.
The rapid development of wearable and portable electronic products has greatly promoted the modern society's demand for high energy density, lightweight and portable, flexible energy storage devices. Planar supercapacitors are considered to be important micro-power storage devices for integrated electronic devices due to their advantages of thin thickness, small size, high power density, long cycle life, and the like. It is necessary to develop a simple and efficient method for preparing high performance planar miniaturized supercapacitors.
The team used high-conductivity graphene nanosheets and high-capacity black phosphorene nanosheets as electrode materials. With the aid of parallel cross-templates, a single-step filtration method was used to construct a highly conductive graphene/black laminate structure. Phosphine-patterned composite microelectrodes, which are applied to planar supercapacitors, exhibit high operating voltage (3V) and energy density (11.6 mWh/cm3) in ionic liquids. In addition, the planar supercapacitor still maintains good performance in a highly curved state. This device processing strategy is not only simple and easy, but in the device preparation process does not need to join the conventional metal current collector, internal interconnection or contact body, can build modular devices, and then obtain high capacity and output voltage.
