The 2015 Global Clean Vehicle Summit was held in Changzhou recently. The summit featuring clean technology attracted nearly 100 Chinese and foreign companies. Mr. Guo Guotao, chief engineer of Cummins Forward-Looking Technology R&D Department, detailed Cummins' cutting-edge clean engine technology in his keynote speech. In particular, for future emission routes for natural gas engines , it is clearly stated that the combination of equivalent combustion and chilled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) and a three-way catalyst is the best technology route that can meet Euro VI emission regulations.

Compared with other technical routes, for natural gas engines, the equivalent combustion technology route has obvious advantages in terms of overall system cost, power density, low-speed torque, and transient response. Cummins has pioneered the introduction of true zero-emission natural gas engine technology in North America, which is based on the European six-equivalent combustion/CEGR/three-way catalyst, achieving near zero emissions through further optimization of control measures and adoption of the most advanced three-way catalyst technology . On May 6, 2015, Cummins Westport announced that its engine has achieved NOx emissions of 0.02g/hp-hr, which is a reduction of 90% from North America's most stringent emission regulations.
