Gwinnett County Launches Smart Water Meter Pilot The Water Resources Agency of Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA, and telecommunications company AT&T, QualComm, and engineering company CH2M, work together to use digital technologies to optimize water resources management. AT&T provides wireless communication technology, QualComm provides chipset for the installation of smart water meters, and CH2M is responsible for project management. Quartet worked together to combine wireless technology with smart meters from different manufacturers to quickly identify water leaks and reduce water wastage.
This project will not only allow the Water Resources Agency to evaluate this technology, improve customer service, but also protect the environment and make plans for the future.
The Smart Water Meter pilot project in California launched the smart metering pilot project in the Indian Wells Valley, Indiana area, where approximately 3,000 users participated.
